The road to WrestleMania began with the Royal Rumble PLE and was followed by Elimination Chamber. Fans have started speculating about the matches and appearances.
In today’s edition of the rumor roundup, we cover the latest rumors and news circulating among fans on social media, including Ric Flair’s comments on the segment between Tiffany Stratton & Charlotte Flair, WrestleMania 41 match card, Tony Hinchcliffe’s appearance, and more.
Ric Flair on Tiffany Stratton & WrestleMania 41 appearance
Ahead of their title clash at WrestleMania 41 PLE, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Charlotte Flair engaged in a segment moderated by Wade Barrett.
However, what was supposed to be a segment involving a heated exchange turned into a war of words where both reportedly went off script and started throwing personal jabs at each other.
While Tiffany brought up Flair’s recent divorce, mentioning her ‘0-3 record’ in reference to her marriages. Flair fired back, suggesting that Stratton’s boyfriend, Ludwig Kaiser was sliding into her DMs. Startton also mentioned Charlotte’s father, Ric Flair a pro wrestling legend calling her a ‘nepo baby’.
Reacting to Stratton’s comment during a recent appearance on the Busted Open Podcast, Ric Flair revealed that he didn’t like it and lauded Charlotte for clapping back at the comment.
“I have an opinion, but I don’t really want to voice it. I can say this, it’s very sensitive. I didn’t like it, but wrestling is wrestling. I hate when they use me, but Charlotte said it right, you think that’s the first time hearing my name?” Flair said.
During the appearance, Flair also commented on a potential appearance at the WrestleMania 41 PLE pointing out that he currently works for AEW, and if it wasn’t the case nobody would have been able to keep him out of the arena.
“I work for another company. I’m sure I would be more than welcome. Absolutely, if I wasn’t working with Tony, I would absolutely be there. They couldn’t keep me out of the building.” He commented.
Tony Hinchcliffe’s appearance & Kelley Kelley signs legend’s contract
According to Fightful, Tony Hinchcliffe’s appearance on Raw commentary this week was viewed as a disappointment, even by those backstage at WWE.
Hinchcliffe made an appearance during the April 07 episode of Monday Night Raw where he joined the commentary box during the WWE World Tag Team title clash between War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (c) and the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods).
Additionally, according to WrestleVotes the WrestleMania 41 PLE is planned to have 14 or 15 matches on the card.
“From what I’ve been told, it’s either 14 or 15. Saturday night may make eight matches and seven on Sunday is what I’ve been told.”
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Kelley Kelley has signed a Legends contract with the Stamford-based promotion.
Lex Luger on HOF induction & Paige on WWE
In an interview with Bill Apter, Lex Luger shared that he’s unsure if Sting will be permitted to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame, but he hopes Sting will do so, along with Diamond Dallas Page.
Saraya known among WWE fans as Paige informed WrestleZone that she hasn’t had any communication with the Stamford-based promotion since her departure from AEW.
Paige has also discussed the possibility of a return to the promotion following her AEW exit during an appearance on the Hall of Fame podcast. She also expressed gratitude for the platform the promotion provided during her early days and stated that she would be open for ‘an opportunity to do something fun.’
“Yeah, so I love WWE, and I don’t have any negative feelings towards them. They raised me, they saved me a lot. I just appreciate them so much. The idea of going somewhere else was only because the potential of my brother being there was a big thing. I just wanted him to be a success in wrestling.
But I love WWE, and I would absolutely, if there was something that they needed from me, which was exciting, I would definitely go there, yeah. That would be silly not to, I feel like. So yeah, if there’s an opportunity to do something fun, hell yeah, I’ll jump on board.” Saraya said.
