Let’s take a look at the latest news & rumors.

WWE continues to generate headlines beyond the ring, with multiple stars joining WWE or pursuing their career with AEW. Then there are also updates completely away from the action, with individuals still facing some legal actions.

The current WWE rumor roundup includes former Superstar Kairi Sane’s potential move to AEW, Ludwig Kaiser’s ongoing legal case, Vince McMahon’s case, and Damian Priest’s stance on R-Truth’s condition during a match.

Kairi Sane has not signed with AEW yet

Kairi Sane’s future remains uncertain, with the former WWE Superstar reportedly yet to sign a contract with All Elite Wrestling. According to Fightful Select, no agreement has been finalized between the promotion and Sane, and it is not being held up by visa issues.

She also has multiple offers from wrestling promotions in Japan, meaning AEW is not her only potential destination. The report also noted that Sane is still a free agent, and although her U.S. visa has expired, the renewal process can be fast-tracked once she secures a deal. With expedited processing, the visa could be approved in as few as 15 business days.

AEW president Tony Khan previously expressed interest in Sane during the media scrum following WrestleDream 2026. Khan praised her wrestling ability and said he was intrigued by the possibility of bringing her into the promotion. However, his comments did not confirm that a deal had been reached.

Sane became a free agent after WWE released her in April 2026. She previously enjoyed success in WWE as a singles competitor and as part of the Kabuki Warriors alongside Asuka. Before her WWE career, she established herself in Japan under the name KAIRI Hojo.

Court denies Ludwig Kaiser’s motion to dismiss battery case

Ludwig Kaiser’s legal situation has taken another turn after a judge denied his motion to dismiss a misdemeanor battery case in Florida.

According to the Wrestling Observer, court records listed the motion as denied following a hearing on October 19, meaning the case will continue through the legal process. A pre-trial conference is scheduled for December 17, 2026.

Kaiser’s defence had sought to have the charge dismissed under Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law. His legal team argued that he believed the force he used was necessary to protect himself and his girlfriend, Andre Bazarte, from what he considered an imminent threat of unlawful force.

The case stems from an incident in April at an apartment complex in Orlando, Florida, where Kaiser and Bazarte lived. The other party, Richard Reap, alleged that a confrontation began after he asked the couple to behave more appropriately in an elevator.

Kaiser acknowledged pushing Reap but maintained that he acted after Reap approached him aggressively. The accounts of the incident differ, and the court’s decision to deny the dismissal motion does not establish guilt.

No relief for Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon’s car crash case was officially closed recently after the probationary period, but the former chairman will still face legal action for the case filed by the Ring boys in 2025. In a 26-page opinion issued today, U.S. District Judge James K. Bredar of the District of Maryland rejected the motion.

The plaintiffs allege that WWE and the McMahons were negligent, and that they knew or should have known that the ring boys were in an environment where they were likely to be abused, and that the defendants failed to take appropriate steps to prevent the abuse.

While McMahon’s refile motions asked the court to throw out the ring boy lawsuit, their attempt failed again, per the recent update. A federal judge has officially rejected an attempt by WWE, TKO, Vince McMahon, and Linda McMahon to dismiss the long-running “ring boys” abuse lawsuit.

Damian Priest stopped match against R-Truth’s injury scare

R-Truth’s match against Damian Priest on the October 16 episode of WWE SmackDown ended in concerning circumstances after the veteran Superstar appeared to suffer an injury during the contest. The referee stopped the match after checking on Truth, who struggled to get back to his feet following a move from the top rope.

After the referee intervened, Priest left the ring to retrieve a steel chair and appeared ready to continue his assault. However, Axiom and Nathan Frazer of Fraxiom rushed out to make the save, preventing further damage.

Bryan Alvarez reported that Damian Priest took the call to end the match with R-Truth early, citing that the opponent might be injured. And for his actions later in the match, he received much praise for staying in character in the situation.

On October 19, Truth took to X to thank fans for their support and confirm that he was okay. In his characteristically humorous style, he joked that he had “almost passed away” on October 16 and accused Priest of trying to kill him before adding that he would be back.

Has Kairi Sane signed with AEW?

As of October 20, 2026, Kairi Sane remains a free agent, and reports indicate that discussions with AEW are ongoing.

What is the latest update on R-Truth’s injury?

R-Truth has reassured fans that he is okay following the injury scare on SmackDown, but his exact injury and return timeline remain unknown.
