After the successful Backlash PPV WWE Smackdown returns.

WWE SmackDown returns following the Backlash event! On this week’s episode of everyone’s favourite Friday night sports entertainment show, the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments resume.

If the most recent episode of WWE Raw is any indication, it will be a night filled with hard-fought battles and superstars hoping to secure a spot at the WWE King and Queen of the Ring PLE on May 25th. Without further ado, let’s get started. This is a preview of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE Smackdown (May 10, 2024): Match Card

WWE King and Queen of the Ring Tournament – First Round

• AJ Styles vs Randy Orton
• Baron Corbin vs Carmelo Hayes
• LA Knight vs Santos Escobar
• Bobby Lashley vs Tama Tonga

Some of these matches will take place on the May 10 program, although it’s unclear which and how many. WWE suddenly realized they couldn’t fit eight matches on a three-hour program, as indicated by the relocation of two Raw-side matches to house shows… therefore they won’t try to run all of SmackDown’s KotR and QotR first-rounders on Friday’s two-hour show.

AJ Styles vs Randy Orton

Randy Orton and AJ Styles will face off on the upcoming episode of Friday Night SmackDown, as one of the qualifying matchups for the 2024 King of the Ring competition. WWE has announced the brackets for the first-round bouts on the blue brand this week.

Both AJ Styles and Randy Orton are coming off a brutal fight. AJ Styles faced Cody Rhodes at WWE Backlash PPV but was unable to beat the “American Nightmare”. On the other hand, Randy Orton teamed up with Kevin Owens to face Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga, but were trashed and assaulted with the help of Tanga Loa.

Now both AJ Styles and Randy Orton have a chance to redeem themselves. Whoever wins, this will be one of the best matches of the night as the two most innovative ring-workers will be fighting each other.

Baron Corbin vs Carmelo Hayes

Baron Corbin is all set to again leave his mark on the WWE main roster. With Breakker coming to the WWE main roster, Baron Corbin now has all the time to again settle himself in the main roster. The former King of the King will be facing NXT call-up Carmelo Hayes to get into the next round of the King of the Ring tournament.

It would be an interesting match-up between both men as they have a shared history with each other from their time at NXT. But, with WWE pushing new talent it would be interesting to see how Hayes will take the challenge of The Lone Wolf.

LA Knight vs Santos Escobar

LA Knight might be in his 40s but his prime has just started. LA Knight from the moment of his debut received love from the WWE universe which has made him the global superstar he is today. Santos Escobar is currently working as a heel and with him joining the SmackDown roster it will be interesting to see how his new feuds will turn out.

But this match has potential. Knight and Escobar can give one of the best matches of the night. Both men are good in and out of the ring. So, there is a huge potential that this match turns out as one of the best in the night.

Bobby Lashley vs Tama Tonga

Putting Bobby Lashley in the King of the Ring Tournament could be a start to something new. As he will be fighting the newest addition in The Blooldline, Tama Tonga. It will be interesting to see who will win. Cause, with Bobby Lashley’s size and power Tama Tonga doesn’t stand a chance.

But with The Bloodline behind his back taking care of the problems, it can be expected that Lashley won’t get an easy win for sure.

Bianca Belair vs Candice LeRae

One half of the New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, Bianca Belair will be facing the SmackDown debutant Candice LeRae in the first round of the Queen of the Ring Tournament. As per speculations, Belair will defeat Candice and would advance to the next round.

Jade Cargill vs Piper Niven

Another half of the New WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, Jade Cargill will face the former Tag Team Champion, Piper Niven. As per speculations, The Storm will win the match and advance to the next round. it would be interesting to see, if Cargill & Belair go head to head in the next rounds of the tournament.

Naomi vs Nia Jax

Naomi will be facing ‘The Irresistable Force’ Nia Jax in the first round Queen of the Ring tournament match. As per speculations, Jax will be dominating the match and defeat Naomi to advance for the next round.

WWE SmackDown Telecast Details

WWE SmackDown will be telecasted live in India every Saturday Morning at 5.30 AM on Sony Sports 1 and Sony Sports 1 HD. WWE premium users can stream the show on the WWE Network. For those who wish to watch it without premium subscription, online platforms such as Sony Liv, Jio TV, and Airtel TV provide space to watch the action for free.
