The October 3 episode of SmackDown aired in Ohio!
The October 3 episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired live from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. The show continued the build towards the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE, with face-offs, a contract signing, and brawls.
Sami Zayn continued his United States title open challenge, which was answered once again by Carmelo Hayes, who was attacked by The Miz before he could make it to the ring. Aleister Black replaced him, but failed to pin the Champion as a distraction from Damian Priest, who helped Sami retain the title.
NXT’s Sol Ruca and Zaria defeated Chelsea Green and Alba Fuyre in an impromptu match, while Giulia attacked Tiffany Stratton after the Crown Jewel Contract signing. Giulia, along with Kiana James, tried to recruit Stephanie Vaquer until Stratton came around and sent them packing.
In another improptu tag team match, the team of Rey Fenix and Je’Von Evans defeated Los Garzas (Angel & Berto). Additionally, The Vision (Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed) defeated Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton in a Tag Team match to secure the victory in the main event.
Seth Rollins interfered in the match, taking out Orton with a stomp while Heyman distracted the official. However, after the match, Rollins paid the price of not listening to Heyman as he went to stomp Rhodes, who retaliated with a Cross Rhodes to close out the show.
Two titles will be contested on next week’s show

During the October 3, WWE also announced multiple matches for next week’s show. Following the attack this week, WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will team up with Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer to take on the team of Kiana James and Women’s US Champion Giulia.
United States Champion Sami Zayn will continue his US title open challenge next week, while Damian Priest and Aleister Black will once again collide, this time in a Last Man Standing match.
The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy & Dexter Lumis) are also set to defend the WWE Tag Team titles against the Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins). The Wyatt Sicks are trying to split the Street Profits. Will they succeed? Tune into SmackDown next week to find out.
The October 10 episode of WWE SmackDown is set to air live from the RAC Arena in Perth, Western Australia, Australia. The episode will serve as the go-home show for the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE and will have a special start time for international audiences.
