WWE SummerSlam 2025: Preview, match card, news, timings & where to watch

For the first time ever, Summer will be a two-night event!
For the first time ever, WWE SummerSlam will span across two nights, mirroring the format previously reserved only for WrestleMania. The 2025 edition will edge its name in history with the first-ever two-night show.
The 2025 edition of the show is scheduled to take place as a two-night event on Saturday, August 2, and Sunday, August 3, 2025. The show will emanate live from the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, U.S.A. Adding star power to the blockbuster weekend, rap icon Cardi B will act as the official hostess of WWE SummerSlam.
The 2025 edition will feature stars from both Raw and SmackDown brands and will be the first SummerSlam PLE to stream on Netflix. Down below is a detailed preview, match card, timings, and telecast details for the 2025 edition of WWE SummerSlam.

Night one
- Gunther (c) vs CM Punk – World Heavyweight Championship match (main event)
- Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship match
- Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul – Tag Team match
- Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodrigurez (c) vs Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss – Women’s Tag Team titles

Night two
- John Cena (c) vs Cody Rhodes – Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship (main event)

John Cena (c) vs Cody Rhodes – Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship
After winning in the finals of the King of the Ring tournament, Cody Rhodes is now set to battle John Cena for the Undisputed title. This will be a rematch from their first meeting at WrestleMania 41, where Cena pinned Rhodes to capture the title.
Tiffany Stratton (c) vs Jade Cargill – WWE Women’s Championship match
While Cody Rhodes won the King of the Ring tournament this year, Jade Cargill won in the Queen of the Ring tournament and is now set to battle the Champion. WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton and Jade Cargill will clash on the 2025 edition of the PLE.
Randy Orton & Jelly Roll vs Drew McIntyre & Logan Paul – Tag Team match
After their back-to-back encounters on July 11, SmackDown and the July 12 edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event. Jelly Roll decided to fight back as he now teams up with Randy Orton, ‘RK Roll’, to take on Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul in a tag team match at SummerSlam.
Naomi (c) vs Iyo Sky vs Rhea Ripley – Women’s World Championship match
After a successful MITB cash-in during the second edition of Evolution, during Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley’s title clash, Naomi captured the Women’s World title via Money in the Bank cash-in. However, her title celebration was interrupted by Sky and Ripley, leading to GM Adam Pearce announcing a triple-threat match between the three for SummerSlam.

Becky Lynch (c) vs Lyra Valkyria – WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship match
Lyra Valkyria defeated Bayley in a two-out-of-three falls match to become the number one contender for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the July 14 episode of Raw. She is now set to face Becky Lynch for the title.
The two women have agreed on a stipulation of no disqualifications, no count-outs, last-chance match, which means if Lynch retains, Valkyria can no longer challenge for the title for as long as she is ht IC champion.
Gunther (c) vs CM Punk – World Heavyweight Championship match
In the main event of the July 14 show, CM Punk defeated Bron Breakker to win the gauntlet match and become the number one contender for the World Heavyweight Championship. He is now set to face Gunther for the title in the main event of night one.

Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodrigurez (c) vs Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss – Women’s Tag Team titles

The Judgment Day’s Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez are set to defend the Women’s Tag Team Championships once again against the newly formed and fan-favorite tag team of Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss.
Solo Sikoa (c) vs Jacob Fatu – Steel Cage match for the United States title

United States Champion Solo Sikoa is set to defend the title in a steel cage match against Jacob Fatu, who used to stand alongside him as his enforcer. The two stars have had a massive crash-out, which led to fierce animosity between the two.
To counter Fatu, Sikoa has multiple times used his newly built faction, MFT (Talla Tonga, JC Mateo & Tonga Loa). The MFTs even helped Solo capture the US title in their last meeting at Night of Champions; he will now have to defend it in the rematch.
Dominik Mysterio (c) vs AJ Styles – WWE Intercontinental title match
Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio was set to battle AJ Styles at Night of Champions. However, the match was cancelled due to Dominik’s injury. Mysterio is now cleared for competition and will defend the title against Styles at ‘the biggest party of the summer.’

Roman Reigns & Jey Uso vs Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed – Tag Team match

Following his return after July 12 SNME, ‘The OTC’ Roman Reigns is ready to team up with Jey Uso to battle Paul Heyman’s soldiers, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, in a tag team match. The idea of the match was proposed by Reigns and Heyman accepted the offer, making the colossal clash official.
Sami Zayn vs Karrion Kross
Sami Zayn and Karrion Kross have been locked in a fierce feud, and are currently tied 1-1, going into their third clash at the PLE. While Zayn wanted to defeat Kross in their second meeting to end the feud and focus his title aspirations, he will now have to win the trilogy match to conclude the feud.
The Wyatt Sicks (c) vs Andrade & Rey Fenix vs #DIY vs Fraxiom vs Motor City Machine Guns vs The Street Profits – Six-Pack Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWE Tag Team Championship
During the closing moments of July 25 episode of SmackDown, GM Nick Aldis announced a Six-Pack Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match for the WWE Tag Team Championship where The Wyatt Sicks (Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy) will defend the title against Andrade and Rey Fenix, #DIY (Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa), Fraxiom (Axiom and Nathan Frazer), Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford).
