Some fan favourites suffered major injuries in 2024

In the year 2024, while WWE experienced a major shift with the takeover of a new regime, multiple superstars were on the receiving end of physical hurt, i.e. injuries. From upcoming names to some of the established WWE superstars, 2024 was marked with numerous injuries.

With many WWE superstars back in the fold after recovering from serious physical issues, here is a look back at the top 10 WWE Superstars who got injured in 2024:

10. Tonga Loa

During the 2024 WWE Survivor Series event, Tonga Loa was part of the WarGames match in Solo Sikoa‘s Bloodline against the OG Bloodline and CM Punk. He suffered a torn biceps injury which was later announced on the fallout edition of SmackDown, ruling him out of action indefinitely.

9. Zelina Vega

With the onset of the Queen of the Ring tournament, Zelina Vega looked to become a two-time winner after clinching the crown in 2021. However, just before she was scheduled to compete in the tournament, WWE announced that Vega had been pulled due to an undisclosed injury. This led to Zelina missing her opportunity to win the Queen of the Ring twice.

8. Bobby Lashley

The King of the Ring tournament also saw top star Bobby Lashley landing on the injury list. The Almighty was supposed to compete in the tournament from the SmackDown side. However, days before his scheduled match in the tournament, Lashley was removed from the competition due to an unannounced injury. Lashley returned a few weeks later, only to leave the company in May after his contract had expired.

7. Asuka

Asuka, much like Zelina Vega, was scheduled to compete in the Queen of the Ring tournament. However, she suffered the same fate and was removed from the tournament. Two days after that, Asuka revealed that she had been suffering from knee issues and underwent surgery for the same.

6. Jimmy Uso

Jimmy Uso was taken off WWE television programming following the SmackDown after WrestleMania XL. Numerous reports later revealed that Uso was suffering from injuries that were not disclosed. Six months later, Uso returned to Bad Blood PLE to side with Roman Reigns. However, Jimmy once again suffered an injury, breaking his toe at WWE Survivor Series 2024 during the WarGames match.

5. Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed was gaining momentum for months as a monster and destructive heel on Monday Night RAW. However, it was derailed at WWE Survivor Series 2024 when Bronson Reed suffered a devastating ankle injury. It occurred as Reed attempted to execute the Tsunami from the top of the WarGames cage. The injury has put him out of action indefinitely, which could possibly see him miss WrestleMania 41.

4. Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre suffered a broken elbow at WrestleMania 40 when CM Punk knocked him off the announcer’s desk. McIntyre did compete a few more times following that; however, he was not included in the King of the Ring tournament due to the injury. This led to McIntyre blaming Punk once again for costing him meaningful opportunities, which went on to become a seven-month-long rivalry.

3. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins has had a history of knee issues since 2015 that had been well documented. Those issues had reignited on the road to WrestleMania XL. Rollins carried with injuries and even wrestled on both nights at WrestleMania. Following the event, The Visionary took months of hiatus to deal with his knee injury.

2. Rhea Ripley

Rhea Ripley had a remarkable year-long run as the WWE Women’s World Champion. However, Ripley suffered a huge setback on the RAW following WrestleMania XL when she was attacked by Liv Morgan backstage. This led to Rhea Ripley suffering a shoulder injury and vacating her title in the process.

1. CM Punk

The return of CM Punk to in-ring action on WWE television came at the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble event. Punk entered the 30-man over-the-top-rope melee in hopes of punching his ticket to the main event of WrestleMania XL. However, an untimely future shock DDT by Drew McIntyre led to Punk suffering a torn triceps. This ruled him out of WrestleMania and kicked started his heated feud with The Scottish Warrior for months.
