WrestleMania 40 Night 2 Key Matches

Roman Reigns (c) vs Cody Rhodes [Undisputed WWE Universal Championship] – Bloodline Rules match

For the second year running, WrestleMania sees Reigns facing off against Rhodes. After once again winning the Royal Rumble, Rhodes made his intentions clear: he was gunning for Reigns to “close the chapter.”

However, plans took an unexpected turn when Rhodes decided to step aside and hand the Reigns match over to The Rock. The backlash from fans against this decision was intense, prompting WWE to reconsider and revert to the original plan of Rhodes getting his shot against Reigns.

At the WrestleMania 40 kickoff, Reigns and Rock were seen celebrating their impending showdown, seemingly on good terms. However, Rhodes crashed the party, asserting that the decision was his to make, not Reigns’, and declaring his intent to go after the Tribal Chief. Later on, The Rock announced that if Rhodes were to lose to Reigns, he would never again receive a shot at the undisputed WWE universal title. The main event will now be a Bloodline Rules match after Cody and Seth’s loss on night 1.

Iyo Sky (c) vs Bayley [WWE Women’s Championship]

Bayley won this year’s women’s Royal Rumble. She now encounters one of her former Damage CTRL comrades in Sky. Despite having created Damage CTRL, Bayley had been on the outs with the organization for quite some time. While Bayley hinted at facing Rhea Ripley for the women’s world title, Nia Jax intervened and scared her away, prompting Bayley to challenge Sky and defeat Damage CTRL.

Logan Paul (c) vs Randy Orton vs. Kevin Owens [United States Championship]

Paul is about to face a challenging situation. After expressing his dissatisfaction with SmackDown general manager Nick Aldis for failing to secure him a WrestleMania opponent, Aldis took matters into his own hands and arranged not one, but two opponents for Paul to contend with. In a triple-threat match, Paul will defend his U.S. championship against Orton and Owens.

The tension between Paul and Owens has been brewing for quite some time, and their clash in this match is sure to be intense. Additionally, Paul’s actions at the Elimination Chamber, where he interfered and cost Orton a shot at the world title, have put him squarely in Orton’s crosshairs. With both challengers having their own scores to settle with Paul, he’s definitely going to have his work cut out for him at WrestleMania.

Seth Rollins (c) vs Drew McIntyre [World Heavyweight Championship]

McIntyre has been on fire lately, chastising everyone who doubts his methods. As he strives to become a world champion once more, he has used increasingly opportunistic approaches.

McIntyre took advantage of another circumstance when Logan Paul, who had previously been eliminated, knocked out Randy Orton with brass knuckles in the Elimination Chamber, allowing McIntyre to secure the pin and book a fight with Rollins at WrestleMania.
