WWE Money in the Bank has seen many winners

The Money in the Bank ladder match has been alive for two decades, with the first event taking place at WrestleMania 21 and won by Edge. The titular match was a staple of WrestleMania for five years until the first Money in the Bank PPV in 2010.

Seven years later, the inaugural women’s Money in the Bank ladder match was held in 2017, and there have been some intriguing victors in both the men’s and women’s versions of the competition.

Holding the MITB briefcase has proved to catapult wrestlers to World Championships and solidify their status as main eventers.

Not only has younger talent dominated MITB ladder matches, but past world champions aiming to get one step closer to being world title again have reaped the benefits of carrying the briefcase. Nonetheless, age is just a number. So, let’s look at the top five youngest WWE Money in the Bank winners.

5. Liv Morgan – 28 Years & 24 Days

Liv Morgan’s determination paid off, as she failed several times in her quest to dethrone Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship, but she got one step closer to breaking her drought. She won the 2022 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and was certainly a popular winner.

Women have a 100% success record when cashing in their Money in the Bank briefcase, but they do not keep the briefcase for long. Morgan cashed in her briefcase on the same night that Ronda Rousey retained the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Natalya. Morgan took advantage of the situation, defeating the Baddest Woman on the Planet to win her first world championship.

4. Jack Swagger – 28 Years & 4 Days

“The All-American American,” Jack Swagger had a solid stint as ECW Champion in 2009, and he was given another chance to move up the ladder. He won his final Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 2010, despite being a controversial choice.

Swagger’s reign as Mr. Money in the Bank came to an end on the next week of SmackDown, when he successfully cashed in his contract on Chris Jericho to become the new World Heavyweight Champion. Swagger’s World Heavyweight Championship reign was short-lived, lasting only a few months.

3. Alexa Bliss – 26 Years, 10 Months, & 10 Days

The 2018 women’s MITB ladder match included former world champions Alexa Bliss, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Naomi, Natalya, and Sasha Banks. The women’s category had incredible depth at the time. The Goddess stood tall after pushing Lynch down the ladder to become Ms. Money in the Bank.

Bliss was determined to retain the Raw Women’s Championship, which she lost to her former closest friend, Nia Jax, at WrestleMania 34. Jax and Ronda Rousey were wrestling for the championship when the match ended in a disqualification. Bliss cashed in her women’s Money in the Bank contract and defeated the Irresistible Force to become a five-time Women’s Champion.

2. Tiffany Stratton – 25 Years, 2 Months, & 5 Days

The contestants in the 2024 women’s MITB ladder match were all deserving of the victory, but Tiffany Stratton took home the bragging rights. It was Tiffy Time, and with the win, she made history as the youngest woman to win the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the age of 25, shattering Alexa Bliss’ six-year record.

Stratton linked herself with WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax, which proved to be a wise decision as she attempted to cash in her contract on Jax numerous times but was cautioned not to. Stratton waited for her turn, and she successfully cashed in her MITB contract with Jax to win the next WWE Women’s Championship on the inaugural edition of SmackDown in 2025.

1. Austin Theory – 24 Years & 11 Months

Austin Theory lost the WWE United States Championship to Bobby Lashley at Money in the Bank 2022, but his night improved when he competed in the men’s MITB ladder match.

Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, and Sheamus were among the competitors, with the latter two having won Money in the Bank previously. The night belonged to Theory, who outperformed the competition to become Mr. Money in the Bank.

Unfortunately, Theory’s tenure as Mr. Money in the Bank came at the wrong moment, as Roman Reigns was the current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion and had no plans to relinquish the title anytime soon.

Theory ended up cashing in on Seth Rollins for the United States Championship, and his reputation as Mr. Money in the Bank was shattered when he lost to Rollins, marking the first time a secondary title was involved in a Money in the Bank cash-in.
