Manchester United in talks with Disney over multiple documentary deal
The Red Devils have a rich history in football
The Athletic reports that Manchester United are attempting to reach an agreement with the major US streaming services; however, the documentaries that are being presented do not address their current situation.
Rather, the focus would be on Ferguson’s 26-year tenure at Old Trafford, during which the team won 13 league crowns, five FA Cups, and two Champions Leagues.
Speaking anonymously because the discussions are private, people with knowledge of the discussions said that the production would centre on United’s successful 26-year run under legendary coach Sir Alex Ferguson, during which the team won 38 trophies total—13 Premier League titles, two Champions League trophies, and five FA Cups.
The club and the streaming serviceDisney+ are in negotiations to produce a documentary based on a concept that would feature extensive interviews with Ferguson, who is currently 82 years old.

In addition, Manchester United would make archive footage of the team available, along with commentary from club ambassadors like legendary custodian Peter Schmeichel and former captain Bryan Robson, who could share the keys to United’s achievement under Ferguson.
The initiative is still in its conceptual stage and would require formal approval from Ferguson and his former players. As with numerous films on European football teams, it is believed that Manchester United will maintain editorial control over any project.
United are still holding out for better terms, so the agreement hasn’t been concluded yet. Disney’s offer this year is less than what the business initially promised United when they first became involved in the subject a few years ago, and the current proposal is in the low seven digits.
In order to stay competitive at the top of the Premier League, Manchester United are looking to diversify their sources of income. At the same time, the team is attempting to stay within the parameters of Financial Fair Play regulations and is starting a large-scale stadium project.
