The South Indian outfit pressurised their opponents throughout the match, but couldn't find any opening.

Host Delhi Dynamos held Chennaiyin FC to a goalless draw in their first meeting of this Indian Super League season. The hosts dominated in terms of possession, but seemed lost in terms of chances created. The visitors had a total of 18 shots, with Dynamos residing to only two attempts.

In the first half, the Marina Machans completely dominated the home side, which was the same in the second half too.

Watch: Delhi Dynamos 0-0 Chennaiyin highlights

In this article, we at Khel Now look into how both the sets of Indian players performed on the night:

Delhi Dynamos

Bikramjit Singh - 4.5

The 26-year-old midfielder was helpless along with his teammates against the aggressiveness of Chennaiyin. He alongwith his defensive midfield partner Gianni looked rusty throughout, as the Marina Machans completely overpowered them in terms physicality and mentality. Towards the end of the second half, he got replaced.

Lallianzuala Chhangte - 6.5

The 21-year-old Mizo lad showcased his marauding runs down the left flank, with much aplomb. The only thing, the buccaneering winger seemed to missing, was the lack of a final ball. Although, he did put in a delicious cross in for Andrija, but the Serbian headed it straight to the hands of his opposition goalkeeper.

Overall, the former DSK Shivajians player had started out the match with a purpose, but his influence seemed to wane away after the interval. Part of the blame can also be directed to the aimless Delhi midfield, who failed to create any clear-cut chances for their offensive men.

Pritam Kotal - 5.5

The captain had an average night. He didn't get much chances to attack from his right-back position, and also his right-wing partner was below-par in terms of attacking.

Narayan Das - 7.0

The Tata Football Academy product had a good night, when compared to his other teammates. He played good defensively when facing the likes of Thoi Singh, and Francisco Fernandes. While attacking too, he provided able support to Chhangte and his other teammates. Defensively solid, attacking wise, not much as Delhi could hardly muster much chances.

Nandhakumar S - 6.0

The Tamil Nadu-born winger, just like his defensive counterpart Kotal, looked aimless throughout the 90 minutes in the final third, with Delhi mainly utilizing the much-prospering left-flank. The lack of objective displayed by him offensively was opposite shown defensively, as he helped Kotal in his defending duties throughout the game.

Rana Gharami - 7.5

Gharami was brilliant throughout the match, with some key interceptions, blocks and clearances against an overly-aggressive Chennaiyin FC. He was his side's best Indian player, as he and his defensive partners looked to keep their clean sheet.

Substitutes

Vinit Rai - 5.5

The 21-year-old didn't have much to do, as he just played 17 minutes. But he kept his side ticking, with eight accurate passes.

Daniel Lalhlimpuia - 5.5

He also didn't have much part to play like Rai, but still kept his team steady, as the match ended in a draw.

Karanjit Singh - 7.0

The 32-year-old goalkeeper was solid throughout the match, with a key save, which was a header by Delhi's Andrija. He didn't have much to do, as the Dynamos could hardly muster any chances. Overall, a good night for the Punjab-born player.

Thoi Singh - 5.0

The 28-year-old Manipuri lad couldn't live up to his promise against Delhi. He had a crucial attempt saved in the first half, and was otherwise well-blockaded by opposition defender Narayan Das.

Anirudh Thapa - 6.0

The Indian national team midfielder couldn't be the midfield lynchpin his side needed, today. He was calm and composed with the ball, but couldn't provide anything else other than some short passes which he occasionally sprayed around him.

Jerry Lalrinzuala - 6.5

Jerry had a good game, especially defensively. Attacking against the likes of Kotal didn't bother him, as he put in a good shift throughout the match. He could very well be a crucial player for the Marina Machans towards the latter stages of the ISL, with his pace and quality movement of the ball.

Issac Chhakchhuak - 8.0

The 22-year-old left winger created a lot of problems for Kotal and Nandhakumar. On the left flank for Chennaiyin, he formed a good partnership with Jerry. In the first half, he and Jerry turned out to be an important attacking outlet for their side. He was his team's star player.

Francisco Fernandes - 5.5

The Goan didn't have a special night, largely due to the lack of support from his offensive teammate, Thoi Singh. He wasn't to blame, as coach Gregory played him in a very unfamiliar position.
