India has crossed double figures in medals won at Asian Games 2026 and will head into Day 5 hoping to breach the 20-medal mark. Indian women’s cricket team’s gold and the historic silver by Mirabai Chanu in weightlifting remain the big highlights of India’s campaign so far in Aichi-Nagoya.
On Thursday (September 24), India will have medal opportunities in rowing, while shooting and swimming events continue.

After a bronze medal in the team event and fourth-place finish in the individual final, Anantjeet Singh will join hands with Parinaaz Dhaliwal in the shotgun mixed team event.
In action will also be the men’s 10m air pistol trio of Akash Bharadwaj, Kamaljeet and Kedarling Balakrishna Uchaganve, who will contest in the team medal as well as qualification to the individual final.
Meanwhile, squash ten prodigy Anahat Singh will begin her campaign on Thursday in the women’s singles category, while Abhay Singh, Tanvi Sharma and Veer Chotrani will look to continue their momentum in their respective singles events.
The Indian men’s hockey team are back in action and they face South Korea in an important Pool A match, while both the Indian men’s and women’s kabaddi teams will also continue their group stage run.

Among the major sports that begins on September 24 is athletics. For India, the country’s fastest sprinters Animesh Kujur and Gurindervir Singh will take the track for men’s 100m heats
The opening day of athletics will Seema in action in the women’s 10,000 final while Asha Ilango and Niharika Vashisht will compete for medals in the women’s triple jump final.
Boxing action continues with Parveen Hooda taking on Tajikistan’s Malika Nozimova in the women’s 65kg round of 32. Sakshi Chaudhary will face Alua Balkibekova in the pre-quarterfinals while Sumit will also be in action in the men’s 70kg pre-quarterfinals.
