Asian Games 2026 Day 14 Results: India sign off with five golds, nine medals on final day
Pranavi and Kumkum lead India’s medal charge on October 3
After record outings in the last two days, the Indian contingent provided a final flourish to their campaign at the Asian Games 2026 with five golds and nine medals in total on their last day of action in Aichi-Nagoya. Those historic gold medals elevated India’s total medal count to 85 and lifted the nation to fourth in the overall tally.
Leading the charge on the final day were the Indian women—a 17-year-old Kumkum Mohod first shattered the Korean hegemony in recurve archery before Pranavu Urs brought home India’s first-ever gold medal in women’s golf.
Both Indian men’s hockey and cricket teams then successfully defended their gold medals with dominant wins.

The Indian men’s hockey team created history by winning back-to-back gold medals at the Asian Games for the first time, with a dominating 5-1 win over Malaysia. It is also the first time both the men’s and women’s teams won gold and secured qualification for the Olympics.
In men’s cricket, India beat Pakistan to retain their title. It was a close encounter, with India posting 211, with Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma scoring impressive fifties. Pakistan’s Hasan Nawaz fought hard with a 94, but it wasn’t enough to outclass the defending champions.
Pranavi became the first individual female Indian golfer to win a gold medal. She had a setback earlier in the day with a triple bogey on the third hole but maintained a slim lead to get the gold. Pranavi also teamed up with Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar to win the silver medal in the women’s team event.
Anil Kumkum Mohod, who took the archery range by storm on Friday, showed nerves of steel to not only become the first Indian to make it to the finals of the women’s individual recurve event but also win the gold medal.
The 17-year-old was incredible on the day, beating Zhu Jingyi of China in the semi-finals, against whom she lost the mixed team finals a day earlier.
The youngster then won the gold medal in a shoot-off against Oh Yen Ji of South Korea and booked a quota for the Los Angeles Olympics 2028.
However, India couldn’t replicate the same in the men’s individual recurve event, as Dhiraj Bommadevara and Neeraj Chauhan both lost their semi-final clashes. In the bronze medal match, Neeraj won the contest to secure third place.

He got the lead in the first three minutes, only to give it up in the next minute. But the youngest Indian Olympic medalist came back with a takedown and a roll to win the game 11-7.
Antim Panghal had a tough outing in the finals against Japan’s Moe Kiyooka. The home favourite was aggressive from the start and got an early lead. Although Antim resisted her, Kiyooka attacked even more in the final minute to get the gold.
Manisha Bhanwalla lost in the quarter-finals of the women’s 57kg category to finish in ninth place.
Deepak Punia won a bronze medal after failing to make it to the finals. In the bronze medal bout, he defeated the Mongolian wrestler to clinch a bronze.
