World Athletics has officially revealed its esteemed lineup of 11 nominees contending for the prestigious title of Men’s World Athlete of the Year 2023 award. Carefully selected by a distinguished panel of athletics experts from across the globe, these exceptional athletes have earned their spot due to remarkable performances witnessed at various events, including the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Diamond League meeting circuits, Label road races, and competitions spanning the globe.
Here’s the list of nominees selected for Men’s World Athlete of the year 2023 award:
Neeraj Chopra

Neeraj Chopra became the men’s javelin world champion earlier this year and finished second at the Diamond league finals. Soon, he finished the season by clinching gold at Asian Games 2023 with a season best throw – 88.88m.

World Athletics has initiated the voting process for the Athlete of the Year. The council’s vote carries a 50% weight in the result, while Athletics Family and public votes each contribute 25%. Fans can cast their votes on World Athletics’ social media platforms, with ‘likes’ and retweets counting as votes.
Voting concludes on October 28. The top ten finalists (5 women and 5 men) will be unveiled on November 13-14, and the winners will be announced on December 11 through the social media handle.
