Full list of players who have withdrawn from Hong Kong Open 2023

Two Indians have withdrawn from the competition.
The BWF Hong Kong Open 2023 is scheduled to be held from 05-10 September, 2023 in China. This will be the final tournament in the Asian leg with the BWF World Tour shifting to Europe for the further competitions. Several Asian players will make use of the tournament as this will be their last ahead of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
On the other hand, few of the top shuttler have given the Hong Kong Open 2023 a miss ahead of the preparation for Asiads.
Former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth and two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu have withdrawn from the tournament. Sindhu after a slump in form is currently training at the Prakash Padukone Academy in Bengaluru. Both Srikanth and Sindhu would be hoping to make use of their for the preparation to Asian Games.
World champion Kunlavut Vitidsarn and BWF World Championships 2023 runner-up Kodai Naraoka have withdrawn from the Hong Kong Open 2023. Naraoka took part in the China Open 2023 last week while Kunlavut is yet to participate in any BWF tournament post winning the world title.
In the women's singles section, Michelle Li continues to remain out of BWF World Tour after suffering from an injury at the World Championships. Japan's Nozomi Okuhara is set to make her presence at the Hong Kong Open 2023 after the exit of Sindhu. Okuhara reached the semifinals of Indonesia Master last week and is back to play in a higher grade tournament.
