Kiran George achieves career-best position in latest BWF rankings

The youngster jumped to WR-39 after winning Indonesia Masters title.
The BWF World Rankings post the completion of the final Super 1000 event this season - China Open 2023 are out. India's top ranked shuttler HS Prannoy who jumped to the sixth spot after securing a bronze medal at the World Championships has now dropped a place to WR-7. He suffered a early opening round exit to Malaysia's NG Tze Yong in the China Open 2023.
After remaining in the top 20 for quite some time, former World No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth drops one spot to WR-21. Compatriot, Lakshya Sen too drops a place after exiting early at the China Open 2023 last week. Youngster Priyanshu Rajawat who reached a career-high WR-28, continues to remain stationary. In a major mover, Indonesia Masters winner Kiran George jumped 11 places to WR-39 and is currently the fifth best Indian in the men's singles. This was his second Super 100 title.
Asian champions Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty dropped a spot to WR-3 after exiting in the opening round last week. The duo reached a career-high WR-2 last month post winning the Korea Open.
In the women's singles section, PV Sindhu continues to remain in the 14th spot. After the opening round exit at BWF World Championships, Sindhu has failed to participate in the China and Hong Kong Open. She is currently in Bengaluru training under coach Vimal Kumar and legendary Prakash Padukone ahead of the Hangzhou Asian Games.
London Olympics bronze medalist, Saina Nehwal drops out of the top 50 and is placed at WR-53. She dropped four spot below and is yet to participate in a tournament in the past three months.
Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand continued to drop spots in the BWF World Rankings and are ranked WR-18. The pair apart from reaching the semifinals of All England Open haven't shown consistency and are yet to win a title this season.
