List of badminton players who have secured qualification for BWF World Tour Finals 2023

World champions have secured direct entry in the tournament.
The BWF World Tour Finals 2023 is the sixth edition of the BWF World Tour, a circuit of 31 tournaments that lead up to the season-ending tournament. Badminton’s prestigious tournament just got a major boost with its prize pot increasing to a whopping $11.5 million over the next four years. This year’s finals, scheduled in Hangzhou from December 13-17, will witness a prize money of $2.5 million, a significant rise from last year’s $1.5 million.
Qualification criteria
The 31 tournaments are divided into five levels: Level 1 – World Tour Finals, Level 2 – Super 1000 (4 tournaments), Level 3 – Super 750 (6 tournaments), Level 4 – Super 500 (9 tournaments) and Level 5 – Super 300 (11 tournaments).
Each of these tournaments offers different ranking points and prize money. The highest points and prize pool are offered at the Super 1000 level (including the World Tour Finals). Top seven shuttlers from each category along with/or the current World Champion in respective discipline gets the entry in the prestigious tournament.
The BWF China Masters 2023 was the final qualification tournament for qualification into BWF World Tour Finals 2023. Kodai Naraoka by the virtue of winning the men’s singles title jumped to the top spot in the season’s rankings. His compatriot Kenta Nishimoto just missed out on making it to the list. Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn who won the BWF World Championships title has attained direct qualification.
An Se Young who has recently returned back from injury topped the list followed by reigning olympic champion Chen Yufei and Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi. In the doubles section, current world no.1 Liang Wei Keng/Wang Chang will enter the competition as favourites having recently defeated Asian Games champions Satwik-Chirag at China Masters 2023.
