List of shuttlers who have qualified for BWF World Tour Finals after Japan Masters 2023

So far 28 players have qualified for the season-ending BWF World Tour Finals.
Japan Masters 2023 has ended and only one tournament is remaining for qualifying to the BWF World Tour finals. Many shuttlers have been qualified after the Japan Masters while some will battle out in the upcoming China Masters to qualify for the World Tour Finals. The race to the BWF World Tour finals has become spicier now.
Let’s look at the players who have qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals!
Men’s Singles
Viktor Axelsen after winning the Japan Masters has qualified for the finals. He now has 84,450 points and has confirmed his place in the year-end tournament. Despite not playing the Japan Masters, Li Shi Feng had enough points (85,160) on the board to qualify for the finals.
Jonatan Christie, who made the quarterfinals of the just concluded tournament, accumulated 86,610 points which was enough to qualify. Meanwhile, a runner-up finish ensured Shi Yu Qi got to 84,330 points which is enough to help him qualify for the BWF World Tour Finals. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting also qualified with 80,740 points despite losing in the opening round.

Women’s Singles
Gregoria Mariska Tunjung after winning the Japan Masters has earned 79,020 points and ensured her qualification in the BWF World Tour Finals. With this she has also become the only Indonesian women’s singles player to qualify for consecutive BWF World Tour finals.
The Pan American champion, Beiwen Zhang, with a semifinal finish has amassed a total of 78,230 points and sealed her place in the year-end championships. Meanwhile, Chen Yu Fei, Carolina Marin and Tai Tzu Ying had already qualified before the Japan Masters 2023. Akane Yamaguchi has withdrawn from the BWF World Tour finals due to injury despite qualifying.

Men’s Doubles
Former World No. 1, Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi, took their total to 88,400 points by reaching the quarter-final stage of the Japan Masters 2023 and have qualified for the season’s final tournament. On the other hand, Aaron Chia/Soh Woo Yik lost in the second round of the Japan Masters. However, they have a total of 87,370 points which is enough to reach the BWF World Tour Finals.
Kim Astrup/Anders Rasmussen, despite not playing the Japan Masters, has enough points already in the bag to qualify for the tournament. Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Liang Weikeng/Wang Chang have already qualified.

Women’s Doubles
Their semi-final finish at the Japan Masters 2023 has taken Mayu Matsumoto/Wakana Nagahara’s total of 94,310 and that is enough to qualify for the World Tour Finals. Meanwhile, despite losing in the first round of the Japan Masters, Kim So-Yeong/Kong Hee-Yong has qualified for the season’s final tournament as they have 83,490 points which is enough to qualify. Baek Ha-Na/Lee So-Hee had already secured their place before the Japan Masters 2023 started.

Mixed Doubles
Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong took their total to 93,690 points after winning the Japan Masters 2023 and as a result have also qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals. Korea’s Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-Eun have also ensured their qualification with 83,050 points. Another Korean pair Seo Seung-Jae/Chae Yoo-Jung, China’s Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino of Japan and Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai have also qualified.
