The Thailand Masters 2024 badminton tournament, which begins in Bangkok on Tuesday, will see former world No. 1 Kidambi Srikanth leading the Indian contingent.

Srikanth, who is ranked 25th in the BWF badminton world rankings, began his season with a victory over Jonatan Christie, a top-10 player, in the Malaysia Open’s first round. He, however, lost in the second round and was eliminated in the first round at the India Open and Indonesia Masters.

The Thailand Masters badminton matches, which are the fourth event on the 2024 BWF World Tour, will be available for live streaming in India.

Srikanth will take on Wang Tzu Wei, the world No. 26 from Chinese Taipei, in the Thailand Masters 2024’s first round. The Thailand Masters, a BWF Super 300 event, will also provide important ranking points for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The badminton qualification window started on May 1, 2023, and will close on April 28, 2024. This ranking period is known as Race to Paris Ranking Lists.

For the Paris Olympics’ singles events, two quota places will be given to the NOCs with two or more athletes in the top 16 of the Race to Paris Ranking Lists. Otherwise, only one quota place is permitted per country.
