Satwik/Chirag and PV Sindhu are returning for Individual event after a brief hiatus.

The French Open 2024, a Super 750 event, will see the return of India’s top shuttlers, including PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, Chirag Shetty, and HS Prannoy. The tournament will be held in Paris from March 5 to 10 and will feature some of the best players in the world.

Sindhu, who led India to a historic gold at the Badminton Asia Team Championships, will make her comeback in an individual event after recovering from a knee injury. She will face Canada’s Michelle Li in the first round, whom she has beaten eight times before.

Satwik-Chirag, the World No. 1 pair, will also aim to reclaim the title they won in 2022, after losing a close match to the Indonesian duo of Ahsan and Setiawan last year. They will play against Malaysia’s Ong and Teo in their opener.

Other Indian players, such as Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, Priyanshu Rajawat, Tanisha Crasto, Ashwini Ponnappa, Treesa Jolly, and Gayatri Gopichand, will also compete in the singles and doubles categories. However, they have been drawn against tough opponents, such as Viktor Axelsen, Chou Tien Chen, Kanta Tsuneyama, and Lu Guang Zu.

The French Open is a crucial tournament for the Indian shuttlers, as they prepare for the Paris Olympics 2024 later this year.
