Indian Shuttler Lakshya Sen will take on Denmark's Hans-Christian Solberg Vittinghus.

The Indian shuttles will compete for as many medals as they can at the BWF World Championships, which will be held in Tokyo from August 22 to 28.

The draw, which was made public on Wednesday, pits the Indians against the world's best teams. PV Sindhu, the 2019 world champion, will try to make up for her poor performance in the previous competition.

Tough Draw for Indian Star Shuttler PV Sindhu

The world's seventh-ranked player received a first-round bye and is in the top half of the draw. Sindhu is expected to beat Han Yue and Wang Zhi Yi in the second and third rounds, before facing South Korean rival An Se Young. Despite playing five matches against the third-seeded child, India has yet to defeat her.

Saina Nehwal, who is on the bottom side of the draw, will face Hong Kong's Cheung Ngan Yi in the first round. If she beats Yi, Saina will face the Japanese sixth seed Nozomi Okuhara. Malvika Bansod, the other Indian girl, plays Danish actress Line Christophersen.

Three Indian men qualified for the singles competition, with three of them on the same side - Lakshya Sen, Kidammbi Srikanth, and HS Prannoy - and Sai Praneeth in the upper half of the draw.

Lakshya Sen to face Danish shuttler Hans-Christian

Lakshya, who won bronze in 2021, will face Denmark's Hans-Christian Solberg Vittinghus in the first round, while Prannoy will face Japan's second-seeded Kento Momota. Momota has recently struggled to advance past the preliminary rounds, and Prannoy may face Lakshya in the quarterfinals. Despite Lakshya's 2-1 record, Prannoy won the Indonesia Open final in June.

After India’s brilliant performance at the commonwealth games 2022 Birmingham, we are surely expecting something better than last time at the BWF world championship.
