Singapore Open 2024: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch
PV Sindhu will look to end her title drought.
The world’s best badminton players will compete at the Singapore Open 2024 Super 750 tournament starting Tuesday, in one of the final elite events before the Paris 2024 Olympics in two months.
In men’s singles, all eyes will be on World No 1 Viktor Axelsen of Denmark. The reigning Olympic champion won the Malaysia Masters on Sunday and opens his Singapore campaign against India’s Lakshya Sen.
Other men’s singles threats include Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia, seeded 10th, defending champion Anthony Ginting of Indonesia (7th seed) and recent All England winner Jonatan Christie (3rd seed).
For India, HS Prannoy, seeded eighth, starts against Belgium’s Julien Carraggi as he looks to regain form after some early exits in 2024.
The Indian spotlight will be on PV Sindhu in women’s singles. The two-time Olympic medalist is unseeded, but could face old rival Carolina Marin in the second round if both win their openers. Aakarshi Kashyap is the other Indian in the draw.
India’s top medal hopes lie in men’s doubles with Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty as the top seeds. The world’s No. 1 pair will aim for a third title in 2024.
