Syed Modi International 2025: Live streaming, TV channel, where and how to watch?

The Syed Modi International 2025 will be held in Lucknow.

After eleven months of high-quality badminton, with all players experiencing numerous crests and troughs, we have finally arrived at the last tournament on the BWF Calendar—the Syed Modi International 2025. The 14th edition of the event is set to be held from November 25 to 30.

With this being a Super 300 event, almost all marquee names have decided to skip the competition, clearly a strategy to focus on the upcoming BWF World Tour Finals and/ or the new season next year.

However, the significance of the tournament shouldn’t be underplayed, as this is now a platform for upcoming players to showcase their potential.

Jason Teh and Treesa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand are the only contenders to feature in the top 20 of the BWF World Rankings. Unnati Hooda, Choong Hon Jian/Muhammad Haikal and Terry Hee/Jin Yu Jia are the top seeds in the women’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles sections respectively.

With the tournament taking place in India, a huge number of participants from the nation are present in the event. To put this into numbers, there are 16, 15, 15, 12 and 16 players/ pairs from India present in the main draws of the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles categories respectively.

Notable absentees include defending champion Lakshya Sen, who ended his year-long trophy drought by lifting the Australian Open title on Sunday, defending champion PV Sindhu and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/ Chirag Shetty- the only Indians to have qualified for the World Tour Finals 2025.

Ayush Shetty will be hoping to provide further impetus to his steadily increasing graph, while veterans HS Prannoy and Kidambi Srikanth will want to end the year on a high after a rather disappointing season.

Unnati Hooda would also want to recognize this as a golden opportunity to string together a few positive results, along with compatriots such as Rakshitha Ramraj and Anupama Upadhyaya.

Treesa and Gayatri are trying to gain form, after having sat out for long durations due to an injury to the latter. The Indian contingent would also fancy their chances in the other two doubles events- with Pruthvi Roy/K. Sai Pratheek and Rohan Kapoor/Ruthvika Gadde being named as second seeds in their respective events.
