Gujarat Titans (GT) strongest playing XI for IPL 2025
The Gujarat Titans finished eighth in IPL 2024 under new captain Shubman Gill.
After two successful seasons to kick off their journey in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the Gujarat Titans (GT) suffered a blip last season.
Under Hardik Pandya’s captaincy, GT won their maiden title in their debut season in IPL 2022, and then finished as runners-up in IPL 2023. But then, Hardik left to return to Mumbai Indians, and young Shubman Gill got the captaincy.
It wasn’t a great initiation for Gill as an IPL captain as GT finished in the eighth spot in IPL 2024. Apart from Hardik, they also missed Mohammed Shami as he was injured.
GT had released all of their pacers ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, where they bought Mohammad Siraj, Kagiso Rabada, Prasidh Krishna, Ishant Sharma and Kulwant Khejroliya.
Gujarat’s most expensive signing at the mega auction was Jos Buttler, who would fill the opener and keeper’s role and is a massive upgrade on Wriddhiman Saha.
One of Gujarat’s budget picks was Mahipal Lomror, whose potential was not untapped properly at RCB. The Titans have also bought two absolute T20 match-winners in Glenn Phillips and Gerald Coetzee, while Washington Sundar and Sherfane Rutherford are the all-rounders the 2022 winners purchased in the auction.
Among inexperienced but talented Indian players, Gujarat bagged Nishant Sindhu, Kumar Khushagra, Anuj Rawat, Manav Suthar, R Sai Kishore, Jayant Yadav, and Arshad Khan.
Earlier, Gujarat had retained five players: Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan.
