Hardik Pandya suffered an ankle injury vs BAN in Pune on Thursday.

It was a complete game for India in all three departments, and they thrashed Bangladesh by seven wickets and 51 balls to spare. Bangladesh had a brilliant start with both openers adding 93 runs for the first wicket, but despite that, the Indian bowlers pulled things back, and the score that looked like it was crossing 300 runs at one stage ended up being 256/8.

For India, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Ravindra Jadeja picked up two wickets each. After a brilliant bowing display, the batting also clicked in all three departments. India had another good opening stand, with both openers adding 88 runs for the first wickets in just 12.4 overs. Rohit Sharma made a 40-ball 48, while Shubman Gill scored 53 off 55 runs.

Hardik Pandya to miss the upcoming IND vs NZ game on Sunday in Lucknow

Despite a complete game, India suffered a big blow, and it was the injury to Hardik Pandya. The all-rounder sustained an ankle injury during the 9th over in the first innings while trying to stop a ball with his feet. He felt down, and his ankle got twisted. The all-rounder was in severe pain and left the field at the same time. As reported by Khel Now, Hardik Pandya didn't sustain a major injury and might miss a couple of games in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

And now, the BCCI has provided a major update on his injury. Hardik Pandya will not feature in India's next game against New Zealand, which will take place on Sunday at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. He was taken for scans and will be under the supervision of the medical team before joining the team in Lucknow for India's next fixture against England.

The BCCI said, "The all-rounder was taken for scans and is advised rest. He will be under the constant supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. He will not be taking the flight to Dharamsala with the team on 20th October and will now join the team directly in Lucknow where India play England."

It will be a big setback for India as Hardik Pandya is a key member of the team and provides a great balance in both departments. His absence will be a huge loss for India with the bat and the ball. But India, who have won all four games, don't want to take a risk; as a result, he will miss the next game.
