India Women Cricket Team outplayed Australia Women Cricket Team by five wickets in the thrilling semi-final 2 clash of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. The encounter took place on Thursday, October 30, at Dr. DY Patil Cricket Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Opting to bat first, Australia Women piled up a gigantic total of 338/10 in the first innings. Opener Phoebe Litchfield set the platform for the team’s huge total with her 119-run knock. Ellyse Perry (77) and Ashleigh Gardner (63) slammed half-centuries to help Australia reach a big total. For India, Shree Charani and Deepti Charni clinched two wickets each.

In the chase, India lost openers Shafali Verma (10) and Smriti Mandhana (24) within 10 overs, facing big blow at the start.

However, Harmanpreet Kaur (89) and Jemimah Rodrigues etched a stunning partnership of 167 runs for third wicket to set the stage for the team’s victory. With an unbeaten knock of 127 runs, Rodrigues took India home with five wickets. Notably, India Women scripted the record for the highest ever run-chase in WODIs.

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt is the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 470 runs. India’s Smriti Mandhana occupies the second spot with 389 runs. Ashleigh Gardner (328) and Pratika Rawal (308) are next batters on the list. Phoebe Litchfield, who hammered a stunning ton in the encounter, grabs fifth place with 304 runs.
