After conclusion of the ODI series, which Australian Cricket Team won 2-1, they are all set to host Indian Cricket Team in a five-match T20I series. The opening game of the series is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, 29th October at the Manuka Oval in Australia’s capital, Canberra. After winning the ODI series, now they will hope to win the T20I leg as well.

Interestingly, some Australia players will miss a few games of the five-match series to play in Sheffield Shield 2025-26. Pacer Josh Hazlewood will only feature in the first two games, while Sean Abbott will only be part of the first three matches. Both will miss the last leg of the series to play for New South Wales in the Sheffield Shield to prepare for the Ashes 2025-26.

Star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who has recently recovered from his wrist fracture, will not be part of the first two games and will join the squad for the last three encounters. Senior pacer Pat Cummins continues to be unavailable for the entire series as he is recovering from a back injury.

Speaking about India, they will be led by Suryakumar Yadav. The India T20I captain tasted immense success last month leading the side to Asia Cup 2025 title without losing a game. Many players part of Asia Cup 2025 squad are part of T20I series against Australia.

Senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested for the ODI series, will lead India’s pace attack in the T20I series, with the assistance of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana. Abhishek Sharma, who was highly successful in the Asia Cup last month, will be in focus as he is all set for his first ever outing Down Under. Moreover, Sanju Samson will be also back in the Indian squad after being ignored for the ODI series.

After winning the ODI series, Australia will look forward to continuing with their dominance in the T20I series with home advantage. However, the Suryakumar Yadav & Co. will leave no stones unturned to outplay the hosts to prove their worldwide dominance in the shortest format and justify their tag of T20 World Cup champions.

Notably, India have an edge against Australia in head-to-head clashes in T20Is, winning 20 games and losing 11 out of 32 matches. One encounter ended with no result. Even in Australia, India have crushed the hosts in seven games and lost only four out of 12 matches (one no result).
