IND vs ENG 2025: Most runs, most wickets after 2nd T20I, Chennai

India won the IND vs ENG 2nd T20I in Chennai by two wickets.
On Saturday, the Indian cricket team cruised to a two-wicket victory over England in second T20I in Chennai to take a lead 2-0 in the ongoing five-match T20I series.
After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, India struck at regular intervals, leaving England struggling at 90/5 in 11 overs. Just like the previous game, England had a shaky start and lost openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett during the powerplay.
Captain Jos Buttler was the top scorer for the visitors with 45 runs off 30 balls, while debutant Jamie Smith added a confident 31, helping England post 165 runs in their first innings.
Indian spinners stole the show, picking up six wickets collectively. Axar Patel and Varun Chakravarthy stood out with two wickets each, while Washington Sundar and Abhishek Sharma shared one wicket apiece.
In reply, India lost wickets at regular intervals while chasing. The hosts lost three wickets in the powerplay and eventually were reduced to 78/5 before Washington Sundar joined Tilak Varma to add 38 runs for the sixth wicket. Another twist came when Liam Livingstone dismissed Arshdeep Singh, leaving India 20 runs short of victory.
Tilak Varma and Ravi Bishnoi then put together an unbroken 20-run partnership for the ninth wicket to lead India to victory. Tilak top-scored with an unbeaten 72 runs and was named Player of the Match.
IND vs ENG: Most runs
Thanks to his excellent 45-run knock, England skipper Jos Buttler now leads the runs chart for the series with 113 runs. Following Buttler with 91 runs is India opener Abhishek Sharma.
Tilak Varma’s 72-run innings placed him at the third spot, while Brydon Carse and Sanju Samson round the list with 31 runs each.

IND vs ENG: Most wickets
Varun Chakravarthy remains at the top of the wickets chart with five wickets, while Axar Patel has moved up to second place with four wickets in the series.
Brydon Carse, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh complete the list with three wickets each. Among them, Brydon has the best average of 7.33 and is ranked third on the leaderboard.
