India A will play Pakistan A on October 19 in their first match of ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup T20 2024.

The sixth edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup will be played in Oman from October 18 to October 27. This is the first time that the tournament will be played in T20 format; the previous five editions of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup were played in the 50-over format.

The marquee tournament will see eight teams, who are split into two groups of four each. The top two sides from each group will reach the semi-finals. The winners of the semis will play in the final.

Talking about the India A squad, youngster Tilak Varma will captain the side in the tournament. India A squad has several Indian Premier League (IPL) stars like Abhishek Sharma, Ayush Badoni, Prabhsimran Singh, Anuj Rawat and Rahul Chahar.

In the final of last edition of the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, the Indian side suffered a defeat by 128 runs at the hands of Pakistan A.

India A will play their first group-stage match against Pakistan A on October 19. They will then face the United Arab Emirates on October 21. Their final group stage fixture is against Oman on October 23.

The Tilak Varma-led side will play all their Group A matches at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amerat.
