Top 5 Indian wicket-keepers with most 50+ scores in T20I cricket
MS Dhoni scored the most runs as designated wicket-keeper for India in T20I cricket.
T20 cricket is known for its dynamic and thrilling nature. While batsmen are generally judged on their batting average, the T20 format prioritizes impactful runs over simply the number of runs. With only 120 legal deliveries at their disposal, batsmen have to play a high-risk game and sacrifice consistency for quick runs.
Indian cricket has been blessed with many talented wicket-keeper batters in white-ball cricket. A total of 11 wicket-keeper batters have represented India in T20I cricket and only five of them have managed to score 50 or more in an innings.
In this article, we will look at the list of Indian wicket-keepers who have crossed the 50-run mark the most number of times in T20I cricket.
Indian wicket-keepers with most 50+ scores in T20I cricket
5. Rishabh Pant – 2
Regarded as one of the most exciting players in the world, Rishabh Pant has scored two half-centuries in T20I cricket. Interestingly, both his half-centuries have come against West Indies.
Pant’s maiden T20I fifty came at Providence in 2019. Batting at No.4, he registered an unbeaten knock of 65 runs to guide India to a seven-wicket victory.
Pant repeated his heroics three years later at the Eden Garden in 2022, scoring 52 runs off 28 balls with the help of seven fours and a six. He was named Player of the Match for his effort.
4. MS Dhoni – 2
Legendary Indian wicket-keeper MS Dhoni crossed the fifty-run mark twice in T20I cricket. Dhoni’s first half-century came against England in 2017 in Bengaluru. Batting first, Dhoni whacked 56 runs off 36 balls to propel India to a daunting total of 202.
His second half century came a year later against South Africa in Centurion. Dhoni smashed 52 runs off 28 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. Unfortunately, India lost that game by six wickets.
3. KL Rahul – 3
KL Rahul has crossed the fifty-run mark three times in T20I cricket, all in 2020. His first T20I half century came against New Zealand in Auckland, where he anchored India’s successful chase, playing a gritty knock of 56 runs.

Kishan’s second fifty came in 2023 against Australia at Visakhapatnam, his gritty knock helped India to a thrilling victory with two wickets. Later in the series, he registered his third half-century at Thiruvananthapuram, propelling India to a big total of 235 in the first innings.

Continuing his heroics Samson registered two more tons on India’s tour of South Africa 2024 in Durban (107) and Johannesburg (109).
