IPL 2023: Updated Schedule Of The Tournament
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is scheduled to commence on March 31st and will consist of 74 matches between 10 teams, with the final taking place on May 28th (Reportedly). The defending champions, Gujarat Titans, will play against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in the tournament opener at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium.
IPL 2023 will follow the 'home-and-away' concept this year, and 12 venues have been selected for the T20 league. These venues are Ahmedabad, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Mumbai, Guwahati, and Dharamshala.
IPL Groups and League Stage Format
The ten teams participating in the tournament will be split into two groups of five. Each team will play a total of 14 matches - seven home matches and seven away matches.
The ten teams have been split into two groups - Group A: Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Rajasthan Royals (RR), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)Group B: Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Punjab Kings (PBKS), and Gujarat Titans (GT)
While the teams have been divided into two virtual groups, the points table will remain the same as always. Teams will play two matches, each against teams from the other group and one against the teams in the same group. Teams will earn two points for a win, and the top four teams on the standings at the end of the league phase will qualify for the playoffs.

IPL Knockout Stages
The format for the Indian Premier League knockouts remains the same, with the top four teams making it into the playoffs. The top two teams from the table will face each other in Qualifier 1, with the winner making their way to the final, while the losing side gets another chance in Qualifier 2. They will face the winner from the Eliminator game between the sides finishing third and fourth on the points table.
IPL 2023 Updated Schedule and Timings
The Indian Premier League group stages will kickstart on the 31st of March with Chennai Super Kings opening against Gujarat Titans. Meanwhile, the 21st of May will mark the end of the group stages with Royal Challengers Bangalore taking on Gujarat Titans.
The evening games, as scheduled, will start at 07:30 PM (IST), with the toss taking place 30 minutes before the start of the game. The afternoon games, on the other hand, will start at 03:30 PM (IST).
