The KKR vs LSG clash in IPL 2025 was originally scheduled for April 6.

On Friday, March 28, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the rescheduling of Match 19 of the ongoing TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which will be playe between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally set for Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Kolkata.

The decision was made following a request from Kolkata Police regarding the deployment of personnel across the city due to festivities. The match, originally scheduled as an afternoon fixture on Sunday, April 6, will now be played on the afternoon of Tuesday, April 8.

As a result, only one match will be played on Sunday April 6, with Sunrisers Hyderabad facing Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM IST. On April 8, KKR will host LSG in Kolkata at 3:30 PM, followed by Punjab Kings taking on Chennai Super Kings in Chandigarh at 7:30 PM, as originally planned.

BCCI reschedules KKR vs LSG clash to April 8 due to security concerns

The BCCI issued a media advisory officially confirming the schedule change in the tournament. The board stated that the decision was made following a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding personnel deployment across the city due to festivities.

The advisory read, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announces the rescheduling of Match No. 19 of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), originally scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.

The decision follows a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) regarding the deployment of personnel across the city owing to festivities. The authorities have recommended that the game be moved to Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at 3:30 PM, and the request has been accommodated accordingly. The rest of the schedule remains unchanged.

For clarity, Sunday, April 6, will now be a single-header match day, with Sunrisers Hyderabad hosting Gujarat Titans at 7:30 PM (Match No. 20) as originally scheduled.

Tuesday, April 8, will be a double-header match day, featuring the KKR vs. LSG fixture in the afternoon in Kolkata, followed by Punjab Kings hosting Chennai Super Kings (Match No. 22) in New Chandigarh in the evening, as per the original schedule.
