Michael Vaughan teased the Indian fans after Root’s 33rd test ton.

Former England captain Michael Vaughan poked the Indian cricket fans by comparing Joe Root’s test statistics with Virat Kohli’s. Root has had a phenomenal run in test cricket in the last four years.

In the ongoing second match of the three-match test series against Sri Lanka at the Lord’s, Root raised his 33rd test century. The right-handed batter played a vital role in his team’s first innings total of 427.

After scoring a century against Sri Lanka, Root equalled the record of legendary Alastair Cook for most test centuries by an English batter. The 33-year-old is also the second-highest run-getter in tests for England and soon will surpass Cook on both lists.

Root’s exceptional rise in test cricket has made many cricket pundits believe that the 33-year-old might shatter the record of Sachin Tendulkar’s (15921) most runs in test cricket.
