Mohammed Shami receives death threat; FIR registered

Mohammed Shami is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in the ongoing IPL 2025
Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has received a death threat from an unknown person. His brother Haseeb Ahmed revealed he opened Shami’s email on Sunday, May 4, to check important messages. However, he was shocked to receive a threat mail from an unknown person.
The mail contained a death threat and an INR one crore ransom demand. The email ID belonged to someone named Rajput Sindhar. Also, the email mentioned another person named Prabhakar from Bengaluru.
However, Shami’s brother revealed he does not know any such person. Ahmed lives in Sahaspur Ali Nagar in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh. He filed a police complaint with Amroha police after receiving the mail. He also submitted a copy of the mail to the police.
Amroha Superintendent of Police (SP) Amit Kumar Anand has taken strict action over the matter and forwarded the case to the cyber cell and the crime branch officials. Amroha police have also registered a case against unknown persons under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Meanwhile, Shami is currently busy with the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He is part of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. The right-arm pacer has struggled to showcase excellent form in the tournament.
Shami has played nine games in the tournament. He has scalped six wickets with a best bowling show of 28/2. He has a poor average of 56.16 and an economy of 11.23. Moreover, the Pat Cummins & Co. are also out of the playoffs’ race.
The IPL 2016 winners have won just three games and lost seven out of 11. Their last game against Delhi Capitals (DC) ended with no result as it was washed out due to rain. With seven points, they take the eighth spot in the points table.
SRH will next clash with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 60th match of the season. The encounter will take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Saturday, May 10.
