MS Dhoni captained India in ICC T20 World Cups from 2007 to 2016.

Legendary Indian captain and 2007 T20 World Cup winner MS Dhoni broke the internet after he posted a picture on his Instagram handle where he congratulated the Rohit Sharma-led India on winning the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 trophy after defeating South Africa by seven runs in Barbados.

After India won the toss and opted to bat first, Indian opener Virat Kohli smashed the highest score by an Indian batter in a T20 World Cup final. Kohli scored a crucial 59-ball 76, which helped India post a total of 176/7 in 20 overs.

While defending 177, Indian pace trio Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh showcased their class as they restricted South Africa to 169/8 in 20 overs and helped India win the match by seven runs.

Indian vice-captain Hardik Pandya took a three-wicket haul, whereas Arshdeep Singh and Jasprit Bumrah bagged two scalps each. With this victory, India ended their 11-year-long ICC title drought and a 17-year T20 World Cup trophy drought.
