Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retired from test cricket earlier this year.

The discussion around Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma‘s future seems to be the talk of the town, with opinions pouring in from all around the corner. Adding his name to that list, the former England great Kevin Pietersen has also expressed his thoughts on Rohit and Kohli’s role in Indian cricket moving ahead.

Kevin Pietersen has advocated for the return of India‘s contemporary greats to test cricket. Taking to social media, Pietersen resonated with the Indian fans who want their favourites to be in action for India and perform with the bat.

If it’s half true that both Virat and Rohit are considering playing Test cricket again, then it needs to be taken very very seriously – Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen expressed his desire to see Virat and Rohit donning the whites again. On his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Pietersen tweeted:

“I don’t always believe what I read in the media or on social media. But, if it’s half true that both Virat and Rohit are considering playing Test cricket again, then it needs to be taken very very seriously.”

This tweet has come after what was a disastrous whitewash for India in the test series at home against South Africa. The Indian batters failed to master their own conditions, prompting fans to call for accountability.

“The survival of Test cricket is a hot topic of conversation and if the biggest stars in the game are wanting to play it again, they must play!” Pietersen concluded.
