However, the all-rounder is recovering from his ankle injury and is expected to make his comeback in IPL 2024.

Hardik twisted his ankle during a game against Bangladesh in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. He has been out since then and is at National Cricket Academy (NCA) for his rehab. Hardik Pandya has missed all the series, and some reports confirm that he will be back in the coming IPL season. But what if he doesn’t get fit by the time or misses a few matches in IPL 2024? Bumrah also led India in an one-off Edgbaston test against England and has been India’s vice captain in a few series. So he is one of the candidates to lead MI in IPL 2024.

2. Suryakumar Yadav :

Suryakumar Yadav recently led team India in a couple of T20I series against Australia and South Africa, respectively, and proved to be good captaincy material. He was also the vice-captain of Mumbai Indians and will be a possible candidate to lead the team if Hardik Pandya doesn’t get fit in time. SKY is also one of the key players for the team.

The best possible person to lead MI is none other than Rohit Sharma. The man has been the captain since 2013. He has led them to five IPL titles. Rohit’s stature as a captain is massive. There is no better option than Rohit if Hardik Pandya doesn’t get fit. So we might see captain Rohit Sharma back with his cap leading the team in IPL 2024.
