Romario Shepherd traded to Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants ahead of IPL 2024

Romario Shepherd has played only 4 IPL games in two seasons.

Lucknow Super Giants have traded all-rounder Romario Shepherd to Mumbai Indians. The trading window is open in Indian Premier League for the next IPL 2024 season. Teams have begun their preparations for IPL auction scheduled for next month in mid-December. All the franchises are charting out a well-thought-out plan before they sit at the auction table. Romario Shepherd has become the first player to shift his base.

All the franchises are expected to release their final released and retained team drafts by November 25. Romario Shepherd has been traded to Mumbai Indians from Lucknow Super Giants for 50 lakh rupees. Romario Shepherd will provide an extra option to Mumbai Indians in the all-rounders' department. Cameron Green also needed support in the lower-order batting, and MI needed an all-rounder who could deliver four overs. 

In an official statement released by Mumbai Indians, they have welcomed the Guyanese all-rounder into their camp. MI stated, "Mumbai Indians have acquired the services of West Indian All-Rounder Romario Shepherd following a successful trade with Lucknow Super Giants. The 28-year-old Guyanese giant comes in with an equally huge reputation of being the perfect all-rounder.” Romario Shepherd has earned his reputation as a great T20 all-rounder.

Romario Shepherd was part of Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2022 and played three games. Sunrisers Hyderabad released the all-rounder for the next season, and Lucknow Super Giants bid successfully to take him into their camp for just 50 lakh rupees. Shepherd got only one game to play for Lucknow and was benched for most of the season. He has played only 4 games so far in IPL and picked up 3 wickets, scoring 58 runs in 3 innings.

Romario Shepherd has played 31 T20I games for West Indies and picked up 31 wickets. In batting, he has been a successful power-hitter for Caribbean side. Shepherd has scored 301 runs at a strike rate of 153.57 in 16 innings. In his overall T20 career, Shepherd has played 99 games, picked up 109 wickets, and scored 866 runs in 64 innings with a 150+ strike rate. Romario Shepherd is known as a power-hitter.
