Temba Bavuma will lead South Africa in the two-match test series against India.
Cricket South Africa on Monday (October 27) announced the South African Cricket Team squad for the two-match test series against the Indian Cricket Team. Temba Bavuma will lead the Proteas side in the series, which will see his return after an injury-break.
The test series between India and South Africa will begin on 14 November at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata followed by the second match to be played from 22nd November in Guwahati. The series will be part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27.
South Africa have dropped David Bedingham and this came as a surprise, especially with him performing consistently with the bat. Zubayr Hamza, who has been under fire for his performances has retained his place in the team.
The rest of the squad is pretty same as what South Africa fielded in the Pakistan tests. Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton will be opening the batting, which features Dewald Brevis, Tony de Zorzi, skipper Bavuma, Tristan Stubbs and key all-rounders in Wiaan Mulder, Corbin Bosch.
Keshav Maharaj will be leading the spin bowling department along with Simon Harmer and Senuran Muthusamy. Kagiso Rabada along with Marco Jansen will be the two frontline pacers in the South Africa squad for the test series.
