Priyansh Arya was bought by Punjab Kings on the second day of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Priyansh Arya will be part of his maiden Indian Premier League (IPL) season next year as he was roped in by Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
The IPL 2025 mega auction resumed on Monday, which is the second day of the two-day event in Jeddah.
The PBKS franchise made an exciting purchase on the second day of the auction by acquiring young sensation Priyansh Arya for a whopping INR 3.8 crores.
Who is Priyansh Arya?
Priyansh Arya is a 23-year-old batter, who has scored two half-centuries for Delhi in T20 cricket. He made his debut for Delhi in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in 2021. So far, he has played nine domesitc T20 matches, scoring 248 runs at a blistering rate of 156.
He came to the limelight when he smashed a hundred while playing for South Delhi Superstars in Delhi Premier League (DPL) T20 2024. Later in the tournament, he smashed six sixes in an over against North Delhi Strikers. The youngster combined with captain Ayush Badoni to make a gigantic partnership of 286 runs for the second wicket in a DPL T20 game. Arya dazzled with his knock of 120 runs off 50 balls.
Priyansh was the highest run-scorer in the DPL T20 2024 season, amassing 608 runs in 10 games.
Recently, in a SMAT 2024 match against UP, Arya blasted 102 runs off 43 balls with the help of five fours and 10 sixes.
In the 2023 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, Arya had emerged as Delhi’s highest run-getter with 222 runs in seven innings at an average of 31.71 and a strike rate of 166.91.
Priyansh will share the dressing room with big names like Glenn Maxwell and Shreyas Iyer in the PBKS setup. The youngster would be hoping to get an opportunity to showcase his talent in IPL 2025.
