Yash Dhull is currently playing in the inaugural edition of the Delhi Premier League.
Delhi cricketer and former India U19 captain Yash Dhull had to undergo heart surgery after he was diagnosed with a hole in his heart. A couple of months ago, Dhull was attending a camp in Bengaluru when the medical team, during a routine check-up, spotted an anomaly.
The diagnosis by the medical team revealed a hole in his heart. Then, the medical team of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) advised the 20-year-old to get treated. After this, Dhull underwent heart surgery in Delhi.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has kept a close look at the youngster’s health and remained in touch with Dhull during his recovery period.
Yash Dhull had a condition from his birth, reveals the cricketer’s father
Yash Dhull’s childhood coach Pradeep Kochar revealed that the former U-19 India captain was attending a camp with the rest of the emerging players, and during the NCA check-up, doctors advised Dhull to undergo heart surgery.
“During the NCA check-up, the team, after consulting with the set of doctors, advised him to undergo surgery for the hole in his heart. He was attending a camp with the rest of the emerging players a couple of months back in Bengaluru,” said Dhull’s childhood coach Pradeep Kochar.
“The NCA has given him the certificate of fitness, so there shouldn’t be an issue in any of the formats going forward. During the DPL, he took a rest from one of the games because the humidity was very high. Even going forward, there shouldn’t be any problem for him to play the Ranji Trophy and the longer formats,” Kochar added.
Dhull’s father Vijay explained that it was a condition from his birth and the youngster underwent a surgical procedure to fix the issue.
“It wasn’t anything serious. The hole in the heart was a condition from birth and the NCA team advised a minor surgical procedure. He underwent that in Delhi only and the BCCI continued to keep a check on him during the period,” said Dhull’s father.
Mai recover kar rha hu: Yash Dhull
Currently, Dhull is playing in the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL) tournament. The youngster started the edition as the skipper for Central Delhi Kings before handing over the duties to Jonty Sidhu. Dhull even took a rest from the side’s fifth match.
After the conclusion of the match against East Delhi Riders, Dhull said that he is still recovering and will need time for full recovery.
“Kuch cheeze hui hai past mai… mai recover karke aaya hu. Thoda time lag raha hai but mai positive hu aur apne game ke liye 100% duga (certain things have happened in the past, and I have returned after a recovery. It’s taking time but I am positive and will give 100% for my game),” Yash Dhull said after the fixture vs East Delhi Riders.
