All Indian players will prepare for the upcoming tournaments.

The national camp for Indian cycling team will begin from August 14 at the Sports Authority of India’s (SAI) Indira Gandhi National Stadium in New Delhi.

The team of 11 athletes, 4 coaches and 16 support staff have already reported to the national camp and are undergoing mandatory quarantine.

"As a proactive, mandatory step SAI has administered the COVID-19 test to all participants, including athletes, coaches, support staff (sporting and non-sporting such as housekeeping, cooks etc) on arrival. The test reports confirm that all of them are COVID-19 negative," stated SAI in a statement.

"As a further precautionary measure all athletes, coaches and support staff will be given the test before the start of the camp to ensure that everyone attending the on-field training from August 14 and interacting with athletes, including the athletes themselves, are Covid-19 free."

The quarantine zone where athletes, coaches and support staff are housed has been earmarked as the Green Zone and no outsider is being allowed to access the zone or interact with the team in order to ensure complete sanitisation.

Additionally, a doctor and nursing staff have been stationed in the facility around the clock so that any sudden emergency can be dealt with. The SOP drawn up by SAI and the Health Ministry guidelines are being strictly implemented on campus.

Numerous national camps have been cancelled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) postponed the training camp last week after a coach tested positive for coronavirus at the Dr Karni Singh shooting range in New Delhi.

Four hockey players, who reported for the national camp at the SAI centre in Bengaluru, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

“Manpreet Singh, Surender Kumar, Jaskaran Singh and Varun Kumar, who reported to the national hockey camp in Sports Authority of India’s National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) in Bengaluru along with the team, after a home break, have tested COVID positive,” SAI said in a statement.

However, all the players are safe and are undergoing quarantine as per guidelines to stop the spread of the virus.
