While seasons of some disciplines are over, few sports will head into their final run in the Indian Sports Calendar.

The month of October saw Indian athletes accomplish success in sports like wrestling, chess, shooting, and archery, on the global stage. In archery, Deepika Kumari secured silver at the season-ending World Cup Final. Meanwhile, in shooting, the nation wrapped up its 2024 campaign with four medals, comprising two silvers and two bronze, at the World Cup Final held in New Delhi.

At the World Wrestling U23 Championships, India performed brilliantly, winning nine medals overall, which included one gold, one silver, and seven bronze. Besides these, some of the top sporting moments from October were Arjun Erigaisi breaching the 2800 Elo rating mark in live ratings and Rani Rampal retiring from professional hockey, among others.

However, the Indian cricket team experienced heartbreak after losing consecutive test matches against New Zealand, ultimately conceding the series to the Kiwis.
