ISL 2022-23: Ivan Kaliuzhnyi, Cleiton Silva steal the show in Gameweek 6

The past week saw several memorable individual performances in the league.
Indian Super League (ISL) 2022-23 is producing sensational football for the fans in India on a consistent basis. In the past week, the league saw many games being settled because of individual brilliance. Mumbai City demolished Chennaiyin FC by 6-2 where Bipin Singh became the club’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Mohammed Yasir scored the deciding goal for the second match in a row for Hyderabad FC in a 1-0 win over reigning ISL Shield winners Jamshedpur FC. In addition to these two, there were more notable individual performances that brought a lot of joy to the respective ISL outfits and their fans.
Here is a look at the past week’s action and the players who made the best of the opportunities that came their way. Presenting to you the top five performers of the ISL 2022-23 game week six:
5. Subhasish Bose
Subhasish Bose made the biggest mark despite the plethora of excellent attacking players on the pitch for ATK Mohun Bagan during their clash with NorthEast United. As the match was heading towards a 1-1 finish following a late equaliser by the visitors, the tall full-back scored a late winner to secure crucial three points for his team.
The defender not only scored the winner but was also quite impressive in his overall display. He got 91 touches on the ball, which was the most for any player during the game.
4. Cleiton Silva
The upset of the week saw East Bengal defeat the reigning Durand Cup champions Bengaluru FC at their own den. Interestingly, the solitary goal of the match came from the former BFC player, Cleiton Silva.
The forward scored in the 69th minute to give the Red & Gold Brigade their second win of the season. This was Silva’s third goal in the league and he has scored half of EB’s six goals after six matches of the campaign.
3. Mohammad Yasir
Hyderabad FC recorded another 1-0 win in the ISL, this time over Jamshedpur FC in the past week. This was the fourth win in a row by that margin for the Nizams. For the second week running, Mohammad Yasir scored the decisive goal for his team, securing vital three points that keep the outfit on the top of the league standings after game week six.
The 24-year-old is in a rich vein of form this term. In the first six matches of the season, Yasir already has two goals and two assists for HFC. He is one of their key domestic players and a reliable figure in the squad.
2. Ivan Kaliuzhnyi
At the end of the game week six, Ivan Kaliuzhnyi is the leading goal-scorer in the ISL 2022-23. The midfielder has four goals in six outings for Kerala Blasters. He found himself on the scoresheet once again in KBFC’s 3-1 triumph over FC Goa.
The Ukrainian has become a fan favourite in a short spell. He has developed a habit of scoring outstanding goals. During the win against the Gaurs, Kaliuzhnyi found the top right corner from at least 30 yards away.
1. Bipin Singh
Bipin Singh was absolutely marvellous for Mumbai City in their 6-2 demolition of Chennaiyin FC. The winger scored once and got two assists as well for the Islanders. Furthermore, he became the all-time leading goal-scorer for MCFC in the process.
Bipin now has 16 goals, surpassing Amadou Sougou who had 15 for the club. Des Buckingham’s trust in the winger is paying dividends. The 27-year-old already has two goals and two assists from six matches this season.
