The midfield maestro scored a penalty in shootouts against Italy in the quarter-finals. He also played an important role in France beating Croatia to progress to the finals. However, Zidane put on his goalscoring shoes as he scored two headers against Brazil. The 1998 was held in France and Zidane was the hero of the night against Brazil.
