Scoring in the final of the biggest stage is a memorable moment for a player.

The finals of the FIFA World Cup are the most thrilling finals ever. The two best teams battle against each other to win the greatest trophy in the history of football. Argentina faced France in the finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022. Argentina overtook France scoring 2 goals in the first half itself. However, Kylian Mbappe ran the show scoring a hat-trick but unfortunately lost on penalties. There are some players like Kylian who have performed well in the finals.

Let's take a look at the top 5 players with the most goals in men's FIFA World Cup Finals.

5. Geoff Hurst

England has always had an excellent and competitive squad in the FIFA World Cup. Not even their golden era of Beckham, Paul Scholes, Rooney and many more players could not win the FIFA World Cup.

However, their first and only final win was in 1966 because of Geoff Hurst's iconic hat trick. Hurst scored a brace in 90 minutes against West Germany as the match progressed towards extra time. England once again took the lead making the score 3-2. Geoff Hurst scored a goal to complete his hat trick and put the match to bed.

4. Vava

The Brazilian striker was the only one to have scored in two consecutive finals until Kylian Mbappe scored against Argentina. He did not play much for Brazil. Vava amassed 20 caps for Brazil out of which he scored 15 goals. Overall Vava scored 5 goals at the FIFA World Cup in 1958 including a brace in the finals. Vava scored two goals in the FIFA World Cup in 1958 as Brazil beat Sweden 5-2. Once again Brazil managed to reach the finals of the FIFA World Cup 1962 where Vava scored another goal.

3. Zinedine Zidane

Zidane took the everyone by storm in his first-ever FIFA World Cup. Zidane did not score a single goal up until the final round against Brazil. The midfield maestro scored a penalty in shootouts against Italy in the quarter-finals. He also played an important role in France beating Croatia to progress to the finals. However, Zidane put on his goalscoring shoes as he scored two headers against Brazil. The 1998 was held in France and Zidane was the hero of the night against Brazil.

2. Pele

Undoubtedly the best player alongside Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo. Pele was the best player of his generation. The Brazilian striker set the record for the youngest player to score in a Final. Pele scored a brace alongside Vava who scored a hat-trick in the FIFA World Cup 1958. Pele was the best-rated player in the world around 1962.

After failing to play in the finals because of an injury, Pele was hungry to score a goal in the finals for his country. After many injuries and constant fouls against him in the 1965, Pele vowed to never play again. However, this changed when Pele played in 1970. He played in one of the best-ever teams in the history of football. Pele scored a header, the opening goal against Italy in the finals of the FIFA World Cup 1970.

1. Kylian Mbappe

Just 23 years old, the youngster is on the pathway to becoming a legend. Mbappe already has 11 goals and has just played in two FIFA World Cups.
