Top six clubs with the most Champions League quarter-finals appearances
These clubs have been successful in reaching the later stages of the UCL
The second legs of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 are showing soon next and every one of the best teams will be vying for spots in the quarter-finals. Nevertheless, not everyone will be guaranteed a spot; regrettably, some pairs to advance to the round of 16 were made, which only means a select few will be eliminated at this point.
After a round of first-leg matchups that arrived loaded with goals, with all but one of the games having at least two goals scored, a number of high-profile contests are expected.
Which teams have made the most trips in the quarterfinals as the teams compete for tickets to the semifinals? We rank them here.
6. Juventus: 12
Italian powerhouse Juventus are another top performer in the round of 16, having qualified for the quarterfinals 12 times in their annals thanks to recent performances. They failed to advance past the group stage this season, and they are aiming for a 13th appearance next season. After failing to make it to the UCL in the 2023-24 season, Juventus could return to the big stage in the upcoming season.
5. Chelsea: 12
Chelsea, the winners for 2020–21, has made the sixth most appearances in the quarterfinals of the Champions League, with 12. The Blues failed to qualify for the Champions League in the 2023-24 season and are likely to miss the next year’s tournament as well.
