Clifford Miranda set to join as Mohun Bagan Assistant Coach

Clifford Miranda won the Hero Super Cup 2023 at Odisha FC as their head coach.

Clifford Miranda left Odisha FC after lifting the club's first-ever accolade in the form of Hero Super Cup. For quite some time, the former Goanese winger remained the talk of the town with his heroics. Fans were concerned about Miranda's next destination. Some even felt, he would be called up to the National Team setup.

Today, Khel Now have been informed, "Clifford Miranda's next destination is decided. He is set to join as the Assistant Coach to Juan Ferrando at Mohun Bagan. Juan has previously worked with him at FC Goa and both of them share a beautiful relationship. So, we can connect the dots as to how this move worked out."

Now with Clifford Miranda joining as the Assistant Coach in Mohun Bagan, it is to be seen what happens with Bastab Roy, who has been there alongside the maestros for quite some time. Will he be sent to the youth setup or provided with a different role is a question only time can answer.

Mohun Bagan's preparations

The defending champions of the ISL Trophy are currently building a 'champion' side. They have signed A-League 2022-23 winner Jason Cummings, Albania's Euro Cup hero Armando Sadiku, Chennaiyin FC's wonder kid Anirudh Thapa, Kerala Blasters' poster boy Sahal Abdul Samad and of course, the winner of circumstances, Anwar Ali.

The Mariners are currently preparing for the Durand Cup and the AFC Cup Preliminary Round (16 August). The entire preparation is being held at the Mohun Bagan Ground, Maidan Tent. The club started their pre-season campaign from 25 July, with the medicals being held from 22 July onwards.

Mohun Bagan's aim is to establish themselves in the continental level and now with the arrival of Clifford Miranda, who, as mentioned earlier, won the Hero Super Cup in April, they'll take one positive step towards that direction.
