Durand Cup 2023: NorthEast United FC vs FC Goa – Build-up
Two ISL clubs NorthEast United FC and FC Goa will play the Group D match of the 132nd IndianOil Durand Cup at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
This will be the first match today and will start at 2:30 P.M. (IST). The Kolkata Derby is scheduled after this match.
FC Goa leads their group after a dominant 6-0 win over Shillong Lajong FC in their opening match. Three goals in the first half and second half sealed the deal for the club. Noah Sadaoui scored a hat-trick in the opener for Goa.
NorthEast United FC also made a positive start to their campaign. They overcame Shillong Lajong in the North Eastern Derby. Two goals in the first half and two in the second half earned a 4-0 win. Parthib Gogoi scored three goals in the match.
The second match is a Kolkata Derby between East Bengal FC and Mohun Bagan Super Giant. Four ISL teams will play today in the Durand Cup 2023.
Goa and NorthEast United will look to boost their qualification chances for the knockout stage. A win for either team could seal the deal. Shillong Lajong FC have a tough chance of making it to the knockouts. Downtown Heroes FC is the fourth team in the group. They haven’t played any match in the competition.
Both these sides will look to entertain their fans. This is expected to be a tight game between these two ISL sides.
