Recently another Wonderful talent, Victor Boniface has come out from Nigeria. Currently plying his trade with Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, he has taken European football by storm by scoring a lot of top-tier clubs in Europe. Recently joined the German club the Nigerian forward is known for his physicality and goal-scoring ability.
Past Experience
His Youth career traces back to Real Sapphire Football Club of Lagos, owned and sponsored by businessman Frank Peters and famed for grooming and exporting talented players. On March 4, 2019, Norwegian club Bodo/Glimit signed Victor Boniface from Real Sapphire FC. That investment looked like a hit until Boniface suffered a ligament injury two weeks after signing for the club. That injury kept him out for the season. In September 2019, Boniface finally made his Bodo/Glimit debut.

The Nigerian forward won the 2020 and 2021 Norwegian Elliterensen title before moving to Belgium In August 2022. On August 22, 2022, Victor Boniface joined Royal Union Saint-Gilloise on a four-year contract and was instrumental in the club’s title run and going neck-to-neck with Genk. Boniface finished as joint-top scorer alongside Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford in the 2022-23 UEFA Europa League campaign with six goals in 10 games. He was also named in the competition’s official Team of the Season alongside new team-mate Jonathan Tah.

He recently joined Bundesliga side Bayern Leverkusen where he played two matches till now and scored two goals and provided one assist. Last season he played for Union SG and made a total of fifty-one appearances where he scored seventeen goals and provided twelve assists. Also played ten matches in the Europa League scored six goals and provided two assists. He also played for Bodo/Glimt which is a top-tier Norwegian club, made sixty-six appearances and scored twenty-three goals and provided eight assists.

An all-round centre forward who is skilled with both feet and who is blessed with clever movement, strong dribbling, and the ability to beat his marker with his blistering speed and acceleration, whilst his aerial ability is yet another weapon in his arsenal. A hard-working, technically gifted striker who is capable of pirouetting past players, holding off opponents and buying himself time before launching an inch-perfect shot his deft skill, pace, aerial prowess and powerful running with the ball makes him a complete striker.
He has the confidence and speed of thought to drop deep and combine with teammates in order to create golden opportunities in the final third. The outstanding physical trait of Boniface is undoubtedly his height, with the Nigerian striker standing at 6’3” tall, along with top-level strength to hold off opposition defenders in tight spaces in the penalty box. Boniface is a decent passer of the ball during attacking moments. He has a decent quality of linkup play.

Comparing a Bundesliga newcomer to one of the league’s absolute all-time greats might sound a tad premature. Boniface is an all-round centre forward, good with both feet, physically powerful, good in the air and with a surprisingly good dribbling ability. His clever movement and ability to lose his marker are also traits he shares with the Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Munich legend and current Polish International Robert Lewandowski.
