Manchester United signed Amrabat on the deadline day of the transfer window

Following an injury, Sofyan Amrabat had to withdraw from the Moroccan team.

The 27-year-old left earlier last week to join up with his national squad despite Manchester United discovering a minor back issue during his physical.

Amrabat signed the Red Devils on the final day of the window in a season-long loan deal from Fiorentina, marking the club's first defensive midfielder signing.

Erik ten Hag's team will shell out Fiorentina £8.5 million to borrow Amrabat, with a chance to purchase the move for £21.5 million next summer.

After the acquisitions of goalkeeper Altay Bayindir, left-back Sergio Reguilon, and centre-back Jonny Evans, he became United's fourth and penultimate deadline-day acquisition.

Amrabat suffered a "minor back injury" discovered by United personnel during his physical, but the deal was nonetheless approved since they did not consider it to be significant.

Although United was able to include Bayindir, Reguilon, and Evans in their match against Arsenal last Sunday, Amrabat failed to register when it came time to play.

Amrabat then made the decision to fly to Morocco's training camp ahead of Saturday's qualification against Liberia and next Tuesday's friendly against Burkina Faso. However, he won't participate in either of both games as Yahya Jabrane took his position in Walid Regragui's team.

Before United's first Premier League game following the break, it is unknown if Amrabat will return immediately to Manchester to keep up his recovery.

Four days after Ten Hag's team plays Bayern Munich in the Champions League, on September 16, Amrabat could potentially make the start of the Premier League against Brighton.
