Gameweek 7 made us witness plenty of close fought encounters.

Indian Super League 2023-24 season resumed after the international break. Plenty of exciting games on the card kept fans on the edge of their seats. The results saw the emergence of important talking points as the table took shape where there is a clearer picture of which teams will be contesting for the playoffs and the top position.

FC Goa maintained their winning run by defeating Jamshedpur FC while Hyderabad FC’s misery continued as they lost yet another match after a narrow defeat to Kerala Blasters FC. While there were not a lot of goals to report, impressive individual performances were in abundance.

Here is a look at which players delivered outstanding performances for their respective clubs and made to Khel Now’s Team of the Week 7 of the ISL 2023-24:

Formation: 4-1-2-3

GK – Sachin Suresh (Kerala Blasters FC)

Sachin Suresh kept another clean sheet, helping Kerala Blasters FC record a 1-0 win over Hyderabad FC. He made three saves during the game and continued to be consistent for the Yellow Army.

RB – Seriton Fernandes (FC Goa)

Seriton Fernandes of FC Goa played a crucial part in helping the club secure a 1-0 win over Jamshedpur FC. He made three clearances during the game and worked hard on the right flank to keep JFC attackers at bay.

CB – Milos Drincic (Kerala Blasters FC)

Milos Drincic scored the winning goal for Kerala Blasters FC in their 1-0 win over Hyderabad FC. The centre-back also did his defensive duties well, securing a clean sheet for his efforts for the team.

CB – Sandesh Jhingan (FC Goa)

FC Goa was rock solid in defence thanks to Sandesh Jhingan’s performance. He helped the side keep a clean sheet against a spirited Jamshedpur FC. He made seven clearances in a brilliant defensive display for the Gaurs.

LB – Naocha Huidrom Singh (Kerala Blasters FC)

Naocha Huidrom Singh was impressive as well for KBFC and earned a lot of praise for his performance against Hyderabad FC. He made three clearances and won six out of seven duels during the game.

CDM – Vibin Mohanan (Kerala Blasters FC)

Vibin Mohanan covered every blade of the grass for Kerala Blasters FC against Hyderabad FC. The midfielder finished the game with an 88% passing accuracy, 59 touches and completed 10 of his 11 long ball attempts.

CM – Rafael Crivellaro (Chennaiyin FC)

Rafael Crivellaro had a decent outing individually despite failing to guide Chennaiyin FC to a win. The midfielder delivered 11 crosses during the game and won 10 duels during the game. Most importantly, he provided the assist for the equaliser in the 1-1 draw with East Bengal FC.

CM – Victor Rodriguez (FC Goa)

Victor Rodriguez made the difference for FC Goa after coming on as a substitute. He scored the winning goal with his head and steered the side to a 1-0 win. Apart from the goal, his forward thinking in possession and neat control of the ball gave FC Goa a lot of boost in the late stages of the game.

RW – Ninthoi Meetei (Chennaiyin FC)

Just when it looked like Chennaiyin FC was heading towards another demoralising defeat, Ninthoi came up with an equaliser and salvaged a point for the side. His tenacity after coming on as a substitute gave CFC an energy boost.

LW – Adrian Luna (Kerala Blasters FC)

Adrian Luna, once again, showed his quality in the final third for Kerala Blasters FC. The attacker provided the assist for Drincic’s goal with a pinpoint delivery. He has three assists in the 2023-24 campaign now, tied at the top with Sahal Abdul Samad.

ST – Sunil Chhetri (Bengaluru FC)

Sunil Chhetri is a man who shines under pressure situations. He did so yet again by scoring a penalty for Bengaluru FC. While the Blues could not secure three points against NorthEast United FC in a 1-1 draw, Chhetri’s conversion gave them a chance nonetheless. He now has 59 goals in the ISL and trails Bartholomew Ogbeche by four goals in the all-time stats.
